in trivia, it says that mew first appeared blue, but it may ave been the light in the water.

I personally view that as junk trivia, considering the fact that most characters that end up underwater have a blue tint to their pigmentation. It's simply an effect of being underwater, so Mew was never officially blue...and to say that it was some sort of "form" is inaccurate and should be removed from the Trivia. Blatantly inaccurate information[]

Mew was not available only via a glitch code, beyond the ignorance of cheat devices there was over a dozen english language event giveaways around the world from 1999-2000 (and had occurred as early as 1996 in Japan). And there's been at least one event for every set of games since for people to get them legitimately if you could get to one of the events. It's been my constant frustration that most events only occur in fixed locations well outside my state region. And you could get it via Pokémon Ranch on the Wii for having 999 pokémon stored in it. The blue Mew became a standard colour variation only with the shiny effect introduced in gen 2, there was a lot of misinformation regarding gen 1 and unavailable pokémon I still have to correct people that explicitly state that "Pikablu" (Marrill) could be obtained in R/B, 20 years after the release of the game. I'd wager this bit of "trivia" was a mutation of the original myth. But given Mew was added into the game code only two weeks prior to launch I find it highly implausible there was much time to be considered for colour options outside the initial artwork. I spent many hours shooting down a lot of this through investigation into the background code of the first generation, Yellow was almost a relief because the missingno glitch amongst others was largely fixed. Well, it seems you found some new trivia. You can add it. Energy X 18:13, July 1, 2014 (UTC)
